Boundary County Sheriff’s Office along with 1st responders from search and dive rescue Boundary Ambulance, Border Patrol, Hall Mountain Fire, North Bench Fire, Moyie Fire, and Pilot Rich Little responded to the Moyie River in response to a report of a person floating face down in the Moyie River near the Meadow Creek Campground area.
An adult male approx. 60 years of age was found by 1st responders near the Moyie Dam where it was determined by paramedics that he was deceased. The victim had been wearing a wetsuit and a life jacket.
A witness reported to law enforcement that they had observed the victim fall into the river from his raft by Meadow Creek and due to the speed of the river they were unable to reach him. Identification of the victim is pending notification of the family.
