Press Release 3-27-19

On March 22 Sheriff Dave Kramer visited the 4-H Friday Friends Program and talk to the kids. He talked about what Law Enforcement Officers do and what equipment they use. He also discussed some ways for us to stay safe, like looking both ways before crossing the street. Undersheriff Rich Stephens, Detective McClelland, and Sgt. Goad showed the students three different kinds of patrol vehicles and some other tools that law enforcement officers use.

One of these tools was the drone that Sheriff Kramer flew and took a few pictures with. The kids got to ask any questions they had about law enforcement and they each got a sticker badge from Sheriff Kramer. The kids really enjoyed meeting the law enforcement officers, learning about law enforcement, and getting to see all of the tools that they use.

While our program operates at the middle school on Fridays we do not have middle school students. The 4-H Friday Friends Program is for students K-6.

During the presentation we also had some volunteers from the Distinguished Young Women Program helping out as well. Thanks to these young woman for all they do in the community.

Thank you to our Sheriff’s Office for reaching out and making contact with our youth.

Law Enforcement Officers are not the bad guys depicted on TV, video games, and the Media. The more contact with youth helps them to understand that the Officers are here to help. They are individuals who daily take on the responsibility of the “Weight of the Badge”.
