A Night Out Against Crime
By Foster Mayo
The Sheriff’s Department is sponsoring “A Night Out Against Crime: A Symposium on Safety” which will be held Thursday, October 26 from 3PM – 7PM at the National Guard Armory, located across the street from the Junior High school. The idea is to bring citizens in contact with the latest technology and crime prevention tools.
Vendors have been invited to bring the latest in locks, personal and property alarm systems to educate all of us with displays about the newest and most effective ways to keep ourselves and our families free from crime. Citizens will be encouraged to turn on outdoor lights at night, copy down serial numbers of expensive items, photograph and or engrave personal property, lock windows, doors, and cars, be aware of internet scams, protect against identity theft, and make it much more difficult for you and your family to become victims of crime.
Sheriff’ Kramer’s ‘Night Out Against Crime’ on Thursday, October 26th will be the launch date for a new effort in Boundary County to instill a Neighborhood Watch’ program. Law Enforcement Officers will be emphasizing that you and your neighbors be alert, observant, and caring—and to report suspicious activity or crimes immediately to law enforcement.
The event will be held at the National Guard Armory from 3PM to 7PM.
