Advisory: Winter Weather Advisory until 01:00PM Wednesday
...EARLY SEASON SNOW WEDNESDAY... ...EARLY WINTER STORM TO BRING HEAVY SNOW TO NORTHERN MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY... .A cold front dropping down from Canada will cause localized brief but intense snow as it passes through North Idaho Wednesday. After this cold front passes a low pressure system will form off of the Washington coast Thursday into Friday. Colder air out of Canada will be sucked in across northeast Washington and into the Northern Panhandle while moisture wraps into this area around the low. Snow levels are expected to drop down to valleys floors Wednesday into Thursday morning with heavy snow possible at times through Thursday into at least Friday morning. ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO 1 PM PDT WEDNESDAY... ...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...
* WHAT...Snow expected. Lighter snow bringing localized intense snowfall possibly resulting in snow accumulati on of 1 to 3 inches. This will be followed with a heavier snow possible late Wednesday night through Friday morning. Plan on slippery road conditions. Total snow accumulations of up to 2 inches are expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches, with mountain accumulations up to 22 inches, are possible.
* WHERE...Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry, Priest River, Eastport, and Schweitzer Mountain Road.
* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, 8 AM to 1 PM Wednesday. For the Winter Storm Watch, from late Wednesday night through Friday morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Look for reduced visibilities at times. Significant reductions in visibility are possible.
* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHERN PANHANDLE
