Alert: Winter Storm Warning until 04:00AM Wednesday
..Strong and Wet Winter Storm to Impact the region Tuesday. .Light snow will develop early Tuesday morning and increase throughout the afternoon. Snow will become heavy at times during the evening and overnight hours. Warmer air will move into the region Tuesday evening and could result in a switch to rain for the lower elevations following moderate to heavy snow accumulations.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches in the valleys and 1 to 2 feet in the mountains. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph on exposed terrain.

* WHERE...Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry, Priest River, Eastport, Schweitzer Mountain Road, Colville, Northport, Deer Park, Chewelah, Newport, Kettle Falls, Springdale-Hunters Road, Orin- Rice Road, and Flowery Trail Road.

* WHEN...From 4 AM Tuesday to 4 AM PST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions co uld impact the morning or evening commute.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHERN PANHANDLE ... NORTHEAST MOUNTAINS
